Subject: DBFS or ACFS for Flat Files and Dump Files

Are there organisations that have the courage to use DBFS or ACFS to
hold

(a) Flat Files to be interpreted as External Tables

(b) Dump Files to be transferred to other databases

What would be the objections to using storage on the Database Server
(as opposed to NFS) ?
