Hi.
Your milage will vary depending on the size of the SGA and the connections
to the database. We have some DBs where hugepages makes no major
difference. We have some where hugepages saves 3+G of memory on the server.
The trick is to test when your system is active and see how much memory is
being wasted on the page table, then decide from there.
Some people use it by default. I see no harm in that if you want a
one-size-fits-all approach.
