Denormalized for Performance

Sorry for the somewhat off-topic here, but this is really
the only place to ask this.

I'm looking for cases where you may have purposely
denormalized a table or tables for performance reasons.

Things that come to mind are calculated fields, repeating
groups, etc.

If you reply, please supply enough detail so that I can
reproduce the table structure. Some idea of the size
of the table(s) in number of rows would also be helpful.

If possible, please supply any testing information that
made the case for denormalization.

Please reply off-list.
