I think Viek was talking automatic segment space management or ASSM, not ASM
(Automatic Storage Management ).

Well you will have to do this during maintenance time,
take a backup of the tablespace which you need to move.
there are 2 ways
1. just take a backup using the using usual rman incremental backup and
restore it to the asm file system and recover it out.
2. take a copy of the datafiles belonging to this tablespace to the asm file
system and then switch them out.
and it is just the reverse when moving from asm to no asm.

Is it possible to convert a Tablespace from NON-ASSM to ASSM & vice-versa? If
so, how?

Thanks indeed
