All SYSDBA connections generate an external audit trail.

Subject: Audit files for dba connections

I notice that my Oracle instances (8.1.7.4/ AIX 5.2) create audit files
every time anyone connects as SYSDBA or INTERNAL. I do not have the
AUDIT_TRAIL parameter set in the init.ora files and none of the audit
views show any activitied being audited. Is it simply the default
behavior of the database to record this information or this there
another parameter somewhere which is telling the instance to do this?

Thanks,
Peter Schauss
