No problems there, that is the new way of doing things. Even Exadata
X7-2 is hyperconverged. The database nodes are no longer physical, they
are virtual, using OVM. So, essentially, Nutanix is approximately the
same thing as Exadata. As far as the licensing is concerned, that
depends on the deal that your equipment manufacturer has with Oracle
Corp. As far as Nutanix is concerned, I heard that the deal is good and
that the prices are not exorbitant. However, I am by no means a
licensing specialist, so you shouldn't trust me. I believe that Nial
Litchfield and Tim Gorman know much more about licensing than me.

Hey all,
Looking towards a hardware refresh, and one direction includes transitioning to hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), like offerings from HPE SimpliVity and Nutanix. This would initially be for Oracle 12.1, or hopefully 12.2.
Anyone currently running Oracle on HCI? Other than validating license compliance, any concerns over things like performance or support?
Thanks!
Rich
