32 bit/64 bit datafile?

I know this was discussed in years gone by but I can't find the saved info:

A database was "upgraded" (changed word size) from 32 -> 64 bit.

Without rebuilding the tablespaces/datafiles, my understanding is you
don't gain much in the performance arena.

Will a dump of a datafile header prove that it was originally created w/32
bit oracle?

thanks, joe
