Tracy, I recall that I had something similar a few months ago. If I recall correctly, it appeared that if you are connected via a = dedicated server connection (server=3Ddedicated in tnsnames.ora) a trace = file is produced as expected (in /udump). If you are connected via a = shared_connection and a trace file is produced elsewhere (/bdump = perhaps). This was on a HP-UX 9.2.x database. This got me as well. =20 Check all the directories under $ORACLE_BASE. Dan, I believe that Tracy is using conventions for JCL or REXX as the shell language. I don't think that she has such thing as $ORACLE_HOME. -- Mladen Gogala Oracle DBA email:mladeng@xxxxxxxxx Ext: 9787 > -----Original Message----- > From: Daniel Fink [mailto:Daniel.Fink@xxxxxxx] > Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 2004 2:29 PM > To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: Re: 10046 - Unable to trace JDBC thin client? > > > Tracy, > > I don't mean to insult you (or anyone else on the list), but > are you *positive* you are looking in the right directory > with the right file name?
