Hi Jen, I am not sure what you are going to build. What DBA direction you would like to be focused on? There are several and from your initial post it looks like you are mixing those all together. As example you may choose from: - Become a good Core RDBMS DBA (get an excelent understanding of RDBMS engine, learn basic administration tasks, learn backup & recovery, learn performance tuning, etc) - Become an expert in one of Core RDBMS areas e.g.: -- RAC (it ia a big area to learn) -- Data guard -- Security -- Custom development support - Become a good Application Server DBA - Become a good maintenance Apps DBA - Become a good implementation Apps DBA (implementation, migration projects etc.) What are you after? PS There is no Oracle product exists with version "12i".
