Stuart and All, It seems you have a older model Cirrus that runs a dual core processor that is incapable forum in W7 and Cirrus Hardware. In this case you would need to upgrade hardware. For customers running newer 4000 models with Quad Core processors the upgrade path is much less costly. I'd rather help you find another way, but why would you have to scan the PDF files? You could worse case export them to a thumb drive and bypass scanning. I'm sure there is a way your IT could lock down the unit and at a minimum allow you to export to a shared folder on another PC to send to MDI. With technology on OCT changing rapidly we have some new options available. I'm just pushing back on a flight to ASCRS but would be happy to chat if you want to call me around 11:30am. I certainly am speaking to my boss our COO/executive administrator about that very subject. Not sure on OPTIMAL is where I want to delve into this, but I do believe in freeflowing of bio-medical caregiving information. Our IT team has been working with Matt at Zeiss. here is what I have from our IT emails: per Matt 1 - take the machine off the network connect a printer up to it and have them scan the tests into MDI 2 - there is a $25,000 trade-in value for the machine, purchase a refurbished Quad-core OCT machine, the cost for that would be $21,000 - this machine would have Windows 7. 3 - purchase a new OCT 5000 - you still get the $25,000 trade-in and if I heard the numbers correctly the cost would be $40,000 (of note, our Institute -or the retina practices- own including our Cirrus here: 3 Cirrus and 1 Stratus.) > On Thu, Apr 24, 2014 at 9:09 AM, Sandor Ferenczy <sandorferenczy@xxxxxxxxx> > wrote: > What is does Zeiss say in regards to the EOL of Windows XP? > > -sandor > > On Thu, Apr 24, 2014 at 8:58 AM, Stuart Alfred <stuart.alfred@xxxxxxxxx> > wrote: > > Morning fellow imagers, > > After relocating one of our Cirrus instruments from another office two > > months ago to replace the Stratus (with the help of a Zeiss rep.) we now > > find that the XP OS will no longer be supported so we will have to remove it > > from our network!
