The simplest, easiest, cheapest and probably best way to use an iphone to
capture any slit-lamp image is an "iphone telescope adapter" made by Orion
telescopes. It clamps on the eyepiece and when properly aligned (via
adjustable lock screws), it works great.

I also use the adapter on a fundus camera eyepiece to aid in teaching fundus
photography (especially stereo technique). You can take pictures with the
iphone on a fundus camera as well using the viewing light, but the images will
be much warmer (redder) than with the camera flash.

The MD who showed it to me has published a paper for use on a slitlamp, and we
are lanning on submitting one for the OPS journal on fundus cameras, so please
use the idea, but don't publish it first!
