One thing that makes the most sense is to have photography/ultrasound/visual
fields/work up rooms and the like central in the clinic. That way, all the
clinics feed into the center of the facility for imaging and then back out to
the clinics. Also, have one dedicated OCT central to the laser and injection
rooms for faster service. So when patients are scheduled for a
work-up/OCT/injection they don't have to get moved around the clinic. We save
at least 3 minutes per injection patient with this set up. I've been in
countless clinics with Heidelberg and these two things have been most
efficient. Also, POCKET DOORS, get POCKET DOORS!!! In small imaging rooms doors
get in the way of wheelchairs all the time. If you can have a pass through from
one imaging room to the other so you don't have to move into the hallway to go
from one instrument to the other.
Thanks,
Tim Steffens

Hey folks,
We are building a new outpatient clinic in the coming years (FINALLY) and we
actually get a say in the layout of the department. Crazy right? Anyway, I need
some ideas for the layout of our clinic, and wanted to reach out to our more
experienced photographers for some ideas. Anything would help, and if you feel
like sharing your floor plan, that would be amazing. We would love to model our
clinic after more successful clinics. If you do not wish to share your ideas
here, you can email me at
zach.dupureur@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:zach.dupureur@xxxxxxxxx>. Thank you in advance!
