Hi Beth.

Subject: [optimal] Re: Autofluorescence Filter help

Hi Marty

Based on the specs you've provided, my best guess is that the relay lens
for the video camera is probably the issue.

There's no problem getting the excitor into the EX filter wheel inside
the camera. I'd be willing to be that there's either no place in the
relay lens for the barrier, or if there is a filter slide, Topcon may
not make a barrier in that particular size.

Since i'm not familiar with the Phillips head, i'd also be concerned if
the camera has the sensitivity for FAF. But re-reading your
post...you're all over that.

Best of Luck!

Jim

I am looking into getting autofluorescence filters for a client of ours.
The client is primarily interested in using them for plaquenil
assessment. Client has Topcon Ex camera, Imagenet 2000 software,
Phillips (?) 1.6mp camera.

Topcon has told me they cannot retrofit their AF system to this camera.

Have any Optimists had success doing it yourselves? How much do filters
cost, and where do you get them?

I am aware that we might have issues regarding getting enough exposure
through the filters. Any comments on this would also be appreciated.
Thanks for the help.
