Hi Joe

There was some very good images of the Ora shown at a paper session at
OPS this year. They were captured by on the RetCam using a Gonio lens.

This may be an easier method for someone that is not used to the
astigmatic correction on the Zeiss.

My choice would be the ff3. Make sure you are familuar with the
astgmatism control. Don't wait until your prime patient to get
accustomed to this.

Have you doctor show you the pathology with the teaching mirror on the
indirect. Watch him/hers scleral depressor position and angle.

Ask your doc to also remember the position and repeat it with the
patient at the camera. Depending on where the pathology is tilt the
patients head to maximize the angle. Maybe use some eyepads to hold the
forehead or chin away from the head support but still holding it steady.

The doctor will find this difficult also, since they cannot see what
they are accustom to seeing, and the camera working distance is closer
than they are use to. The Zeiss has the longest distance but it is still
tight.

Good luck it isn't easy but with a cooperative patient (and doctor) you
can get good results.

Anyone have experience with a three mirror gonio?

Anyone have any advice on trying to photograph the Ora? We have 50
degree fundus, Zeiss FF3, a SL camera and a RetCam. Or does anyone have
any Ora images that would go into a Retina chapter of a book with photo
credit? If you would like to contact me privately:
