Hi Denice- thanks for your thoughtful post. Glad you’re safe. In the last
couple of weeks the OPS BOE has been working feverishly on a number of very
exciting offerings that will benefit all! Keep your eye out for an
announcement very soon.
Also look for an announcement about the NIH/NEI Mid Year Program on the OPS
website soon too! Stay Safe, All

Subject: [optimal] From Denice a Call To Arms
Greetings Optimalers and OPS
I’m throwing out a novel concept, a call to arms if you will. I think in
these challenging times we should take the high road and offer FREE webinars
to our members who may well be stuck at home, without pay, and in need of a
diversion. In as much as we will not be offering live seminars or meetings
for any time in the near or even distant future, we might consider doing this
in lieu of attendance at live meetings such as the May NIH ( I notice the
website does not mention this is cancelled- is it? Or is it implied?)
Such a policy would be in line with many other non ophthalmic groups and
professions who have seen the need in this time of human distress to support
their fellow professionals. Such a policy could be temporary, until this
crisis recedes and normal activities resume.
I step up to this challenge, and I know many others out there have a lot of
wisdom, lectures already to do, to share might feel the same. I have more
than 15 lectures ready to go on Ultrasound, Biometry, Topography, Visual
Fields, OCT, etc etc.
Am asking the OPS BOE to consider this concept and to utilize our resources
such as a central office and MyMembership to think outside of our normal box.
Respectfully,
Denice
