I have no financial interest, but have been very happy with our Ellex V4.
It’s the probe! And the software to pay attention to
Our Residents use the older Accutome B Scan Plus for on call
However, both Quantel and Ellex make a nicer, smaller, newer portable unit.
You are correct, generally in the more mobile units where you simply plug in
the probe to a computer, you compromise on the physics, on the energy driving
the probe.
My two cents. Rhonda Waldron will most likely weigh in and her judgement is
sound. Just cautioning that she has a vendor relationship with several
companies which should be disclosed on Optimal.

We are FINALLY looking at purchasing a new ultrasound unit! We have the tried
and true Inovative Imaging system currently, it’s about 20+ years old now.
The question I would like to ask from all of you is what is your preferred
system? We are looking at Quantel’s and Ellex’s anular array systems and will
couple that with UMB and standardized A. Personally I’m leaning towards
Quantels system, but would like input on those that are using the systems
currently.
Any pro’s/con’s would help!
We are strictly Retina here folks and from what I have seen at academy
meetings, I’d prefer stationary vs mobile. (It seems that the quality is
lackluster on the mobile units).
