The main thing I’m curious about is if you can use the same diagnosis for both
the OCT and the exam.
Example. Patient has a history of cataract, AMD, POAG, DES. Being seen for 6
month follow with OCTs.
Can the exam and the Oct have the same dx or must I separate the exam to
cataract and DES, mac oct to AMD, and RNFL to POAG?

Sometimes, if you do these tests routinely just because a) you need them to

Let me clarify
I understand that the dx code and the testing need to match. Ie: you can’t
bill an ONH OCT with the dx of cataract.
