You might consider on line courses. There are many through JCAHPO, EyeTec.com,
and other websites.

Barbara, Allen, Ditte, Cynthia, and James

Thank you all :)

I was hoping that it was credited! I'm close to re-certify for my COT and I
should be working on having the minimum required credits.
Its a shame that King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) here in Riyadh;
doesn't provide approved JCAHPO A+B credits any more :(
And for some of us here, we are left to the alternative to either get credits
online, or by attending joint OPS/JCAHPO meetings.

If all goes well; I'll be attending the upcoming meeting in New Orleans :)

Again thank you all

Hasan,

I followed up with one of the individuals who was on the Oxford ICOP committee
and worked with the CECs. Here is her response about the JCAHPO CECs:

"Anytime we have an ICOP meeting on the North American continent, we absolutely
apply for JCAHPO credits, as we anticipate that there will be a significant
number of our attendees who hold joint certification. There were JCAHPO
credits for ICOP 1994, ICOP 2006, and there will be for our program next year,
ICOP 2014!

But there is a charge for application and review of courses for CECs from
JCAHPO, just as there is a charge to outside groups who apply for OPS CECs. At
Oxford, the number of attendees who held JCAHPO certification was a very small
number compared to the overall population of attendees, and the expense could
not be justified. The course had full OPS CECS, but nothing for JCAHPO.

The program for ICOP Toronto, 2014 will be" fully loaded" with both OPS and
JCAHPO credits!"

I hope this information helps.

Best regards,
Barbara

The Continuing Education Units (CEU) we received during the ICOP meeting that
was held in Oxford, are they JCAHPO approved? If so; are they group A or B?
In my certificate there were no indication.
Anyone?
