Chuck,
I have been using the Canon system for almost a year now and seriously wish
the office would have settled again on the OIS-Merge system with the Topcon.
The major problem is the slow and outdated Canon software.
One cannot start another IVFA without closing out the previous one. You cannot
access another study during the waiting period for the late phase. Exporting
pictures to patients e-records is cumbersome with many steps, re-naming files,
etc.
The canon fundus camera itself is not too bad but for the same money the Topcon
has more features and it is easier to use. Meaning it is more forgiving the
alignment is not a critical to obtain great pictures. You can shoot a whole
IVFA without using the view finder.
Call me if I can explain in more detail

Thank You

Hi guys! Long time no contact. Anyway, we recently lost our remaining OIS 3400
system to the digital grim reaper. We have decided to go with two possible
systems. The Canon CX-1 or the Nikon – Stingray configuration. The camera we
will probably use for the Nikon-Stingray will be an older but not too used
Topcon 50 EX. With all else being equal, which system would you choose? Do you
have any experience with either? I have never used the Canon CX-1. Is it any
good? Difficult to use? The two systems are fairly close in cost as they are
configured. You help will be greatly appreciated. Chuck Etienne, CRA Dayton,
