Archiving with the Native CIRRUS software vs FORUM does not provide any
difference in data recovery as long as archives are done consistently.
The only potential difference is that when a Cirrus is connected to Forum it
will normally archive after each patient instead of at end of day so you may
have slightly more data security in that aspect. But at the end of the day you
can restore from either source.

We use FORUM as the data warehouse for our fields. It’s a pretty
straightforward process to send the raw data to FORUM, and the images to
your PACS. It can take quite a bit of time, depending on the number of
procedures (the Zeiss tech who set ours up had never seen as many fields
anywhere…)

Subject: [optimal] CIRRUS upgrading questions
Hi all,
We have a CIRRUS that has 10+ years data on it. We have been archiving to a
server via the archive function and sending reports to our image PACS via
Visupak. I was told that the RAW data isn't really sufficiently backed up
this way without forum.
We hope to acquire a new CIRRUS and FORUM. How easy is it to carry over all
our data to maintain longitudinal progression analysis ability going
forward? How do we port the old data over?
We won't use FORUM for image review as all our data is to be viewable in our
hospitals' Image Management software instead. What ways can user-selected
individual slices and reports get sent to a non-ZEISS image review software?
