It is good to see that there are many users out there that would like to see
an Optacon upgrade available. I should like to know how many people would
be prepared to purchase a new Optacon at $1000 a piece. And the second
question is how many of you would be willing to put an advance on such a
purchase. I don't want to clog the list with those responses, so feel free
to contact me directly at my email (darocho@xxxxxxxxxxxxx). If there are
enough serious potential purchasers, then we would have something to present
to interested investors. I don't expect, and never expected, the government
or nonprofit outfits to be the ones to support such a venture. There just
not enough of out there to make sense for these entities to get involved.

I posted an article in Dialog magazine and more announcements are going out
requesting this kind of input. Our informal group is called the Optacon
Users Resources and Services (OURS) GROUP. We are looking for people who
are serious about preserving the Optacon and are willing to make a personal
commitment o buy a new Optacon or fund the effort.

I realize that this is not the aim of this list. It helps to generate
interest and to stimulate discussion. I thank Don for providing this forum.
