Dear Fellow Listers, This is probably a mailbot that Paul has unsuspectingly been exposed to. I had one, that I received in an email similar to this, that my sister-in-law's mother sent to me. I thought she was sending a video of my parent's fortieth wedding anniversary, which happened the previous day, so it was very timely. However, it definitely was not an anniversary video. I actually opened the link. It told me the webpage was invalid, and I thought nothing happened. However, This link installed a rootkit on my computer, which is a virus like file that boots with your computer, and if not treated will destroy your hard drive. It also could allow access to your computer from the outside. A regular antivirus program may or may not detect a rootkit's presence, but may or may not be able to remove it. I had my friend take mine off, as he knows how to do this and has special software tools at his disposal to perform these functions. He also has vision, and can use the computer in safe mode, whereas I cannot. So I sure hope none of you clicked on this link, and just deleted the email. I don't believe you can become infected from just opening the message, you physically must click on the link for it to actually infect your computer. There really isn't any symptoms of rootkit infection right away, so if any of you did open it, you may want to get a boot scan of your hard drive with an antivirus/antispam software.
