Hi,
Finally a ticket for a passenger's guide has been available even in the railway
company's Internet shop here in Finland. Their explanation for not getting it
available there was a risk of misuse even though this could also happen when
buying a guide ticket from a railway station. The guide ticket is free when a
ticket is bought for the passenger. The passenger must be able to verify
hes/her right for a guide whenever asked. Therefore I bought departure and
return tickets for February 16th and printed them on paper in order to be able
to show them more easily than from my iPhone. Once again, the Optacon was
irreplaceable for me in order to see if the printing had succeeded, and it had.
Even if a scanning software like OmniPage could have been able to make the
tickets readable for me, I couldn't have known about poor printing output etc.
Now I could be sure that the output was ok.
In case that something would have happened during the printing procedure I
ordered the tickets to my mobile phone too. To be able to buy the tickets
easily I used the railway company's mobile Internet shop instead of the
"normal" one. The guide ticket has also been available in the mobile Internet
shop. At first it was only available in the "normal" one.
This shows just how much work has to be done to get even obvious things
available for us. The guide tickec could have been available as long as other
tickets have been in the Internet shop.
