RE: Optacon calculator lens

I used to use the regular Optacon lens a lot with LCD displays on
calculators. I suspect a lot of modern calculators no longer use OEDs
since it takes extra power to light up an LED. What I haven't figured out
is why the displays on so many phones these days aren't distinguishable
under an Optacon camera.

Jerry

I have one but all the new calculators that I have won't work with it.
It is a lens with no lamps in it, and therefore, doesn't always work
with the new calculators that use ambiant light for the display.
It also has a limited size of characters for which it works best.
Personally, I haven't used it in years.
I'll look around for it and get back to the list on the issue.

Subject: Optacon calculator lens

Good morning list,

If anybody has a calculator lens they don't want, I would love to have
it, (probably along with just about every other user on this list!) From
what I understand, the calculator lens didn't have rollers on the
bottom, but it looked like a regular lens.

My e-mail address is at the bottom of all items I send, so you can
contact me off-list; thank you.
