I don't remember what they were called. You might Google book holders or
something like that. I have a family crisis going on, or I would try to
research it.
Bye for now,
Carolyn

Back when I got Daddy's, about ten years ago, my cousin found it on the
net. This guy made them. You might try Google or Windows Search or check
with Amazon or Barnes & Noble or even Office Max or Depot.Keep asking,
and finally, there'll be an answer.

Where does one purchase those, maybe amazon, and what are they officially
called?

I remember getting my dad one of those, when he was in dialysis and could
use only one hand. I wish I'd have gotten his when he died for when using
the Optacon with books.

You can buy a book weight to keep the book open. It's a leather strap
with
two metal thingies, one on each end. You lay it across the book, either
above or below where you're reading depending on which part of the page
you're on. That helps to keep the book open.

That's a good question, because I do remember me having the same problem
too
when reading books with the Optacon.
I just tried to keep the book as open as possible with the palm of my
left
hand while holding the camera in the same hand. Not very convenient
(sad).

I also doubt if a scanner even together with the best OCR software
have coped with the handwriting.it.
It's "ages" since I've tried to read handwritten text with my Optacon.

This is Robert in NY. I was reading something on my scanner, and a

Do some of you use scanners but rely on the optacon when something is
