Optacons require quite a few hours of concentrated learning to get started, so
don't get discouraged. Then, when I took my 40 hojurs of training, they said it
would take me two years to become proficient, and that was about right. I had a
job I could not have had, if I had not had my Optacon.

It's here, it's here! My Optacon is here! It's an R1D. Looks to be in very good
shape, but I haven't yet had a chance to work with it. Now I just need some
uninterrupted time, but of course two four-year-olds have other ideas about how
I should spend an afternoon. *smile*
Thank you to everyone who replied to my message and questions with such helpful
suggestions! I'm especially glad to know to expect the battery charger to get
warm (and it did), because I'd worry about that, otherwise!
