Right. Wordp processor macros may be able to fix regular errors like this, but
there are still even manual work left to do.

A long time ago, I scanned a hymnal having words only, and I got several of
those errors consistently. After looking through several of the hymns, I
decided to use the global search-replace function in my word-processor to
change "bom" to "born"; " 0 " to " O "; " 1 " to " I "; and maybe a few
other consistent errors caused by the OCR software's processing of the
particular typestyle in my book. If I had been doing a bigger project of
this type, I would have probably written a macro in my word-processor to fix
all of those errors automatically.

Judy is right: we all process things differently. For example, I was
reading something today, and got stuck on the word minimum. The print was a
bit light and I only felt straight lines and had to turn the threshold up to
get the word.
