Hey how about My still being around? 11 years 6 months fighting Stage IV
Colon Cancer! Just went back on chemo which I dodge most of the time. Would
have been dead 8 years ago if I followed FDA protocols. When initially
diagnosed with metastatic Colon Cancer they gave me 6 moths to a year with NO
chemo and an extra year if I went on chemo right away and it worked. I
rejected chemo and did my own thing for the first two years which worked. And
about 70% of the time since I have been way off the FDA reservation.
The conventional wisdom is not always the best.
Medicine has come a long way in our lifetime.
Still has a long way to go. Too much emphasis on drugs...
I assume you are a Trump fan só here is my take.
I did not vote for him. I’m sure you would not approve of the guy I wrote in...
I am a life long conservative with libertarian leanings. Worked for Goldwater
in 1964 as a young republican. Went to a campaign event for our U.S. Senator at
the time; he had this guy from Hollywood speaking on his behalf - Ronald Regan.
Trump is no Ronald Regan. But he has pleasantly surprised me, with the
exception of signing that Omnibus budget bill.
We need to return to regular order with annual budgets for each agency.
You want to repeal the 2nd Amendment. I want to repeal the 17th, which enabled
the massive Federal Bureaucracy. The popular election of Senators was a massive
mistake for the states; the Senate WAS the body that represented the States in
Washington. Now it is a glorified board of directors accountable to no one.
I guess you can figure that I despise him. The lowest life form on the planet.
Ya think?
We were on the precipice; still are for that matter.
When we were working on the DTV standard in the ‘90s I spent a fair amount of
time in D..C. Many of the Congressional aides I spoke with though it would only
be a matter of years until the people came and took the country back.
I think that there is a slow change in attitudes, and that there is still hope.
Getting rid of California (at least parts of it) might help.
As to his "not a trade war" with China. He has the edge because China is FAR
more worried about a Trumpian U-turn on TPP than tit-for-tat tariffs. And
tariffs are proactive and reactive steps to hell. What should worry us all is
if the Chinese get just a little peeved and decide to demur at the next US
Treasury Auction. Just not showing up or even a HESITATION and Trump's bluff
would be called BIGGLY. Forget about the 2-3% DOW drops lately. Think back to
1987 and the 23% DOW drop in one day. That would be 5300 points on the DOW
today. That $1.5 trillion deficit would look a lot different if China doesn't
want to buy it. No WTO to complain to. Like to see how Trump will spin China
refusing to fund his dystopian society, his tax cuts and blowout budget at a
near peak in the economy.
Trump is “the Art of the Deal.” The mainstream media still does not get this.
Over the past half century we gave away our competitive advantage, not to
mention millions of jobs. Now we have a massive number of Americans who have
lost hope. The number of drug overdose deaths is three times the number of gun
homiacides. And to that you can add another 20,000+ gun suicides.
And yet we keep letting in millions of immigrants. The U.S. reached zero
replacement birth rate around 1970. The population at that tie was around 200
million. It is now around 325 million, give or take 20 million.
We are living in interesting times.
Indeed.
At least we can still talk to one another, even if we don’t agree about much!

Craig
