Screen aspect ratio = tan(FOVh/2) / tan(FOVv/2)
The way things have a way of becoming misunderstood, I wanted to make it
clear that we don't actually want screens which fill up our field of view. As
we already discussed, beyond a certain point, that creates motion sickness.
Please do not post this type of misleading information without some kind of
scientific support.
People watch big screens all the time and do not get motion sickness.
It is unnatural and or rapid motion that can cause motion sickness in some
viewers. This is a particularly vexing problem for gamers who often use
multiple screens to cover a vide field of view, and even worse for VR, both for
gaming and exploring virtual environments.
But entertainment - except for theme park rides - is designed to NOT make us
sick. as I said before, motion is very precisely controlled by cinematographers.
That being said, this You Tube video seems to offer a new way to create motion
sickness...
