Another thought just occurred to me.Peter Tannewald's Blog was slightly critical of the time spent by some of the companies that are lobbying the FCC to get more spectrum for broadband. His list included Google, Microsoft, Comcast, Dell, Verizon, and AT&T.
One cannot be too critical of some of these companies for working with the entrenched telcom oligopoly to reclaim broadcast spectrum for broadband. Clearly, they have a better chance of bypassing today's gatekeepers with broadband than getting the media conglomerates to play ball.
Putting this into a slightly different light, it might be useful to create a list of companies that would be willing to partner with LOCAL broadcasters if they were allowed to do as Peter suggests and use their spectrum in new and innovative ways...
