You can, but you don't need to, because you have so much echo tolerance
available if you increase the GI to at least 1/8 (and 8K mode of
course). So that's what they seem to do in COFDM SFNs. I'm talking about
the practical ones, small area SFNs.

If you do synchronize towers, then you can probably tweak the spectral
efficiency up again there too.

All goes to show that the more time passes, the more alike all these
schemes end up becoming.
