So, you were being a drama queen. This hardly illustrates any "gutting" that
you claimed.
The scripted shows, strictly on the FOTA TV networks, have increased by 20%
from 2009 to 2015. That's an increase, Craig. But that's hardly the whole story.
The TV networks also make their content available on demand, FOTI. This allows
people to watch material they would have missed in the past, due to schedule
conflicts. That's quite a large multiplier right there, in terms of what is
available in practice (meaning, that people can actually consume).
There are reruns and other material on OTA subchannels, that didn't exist
before. And there are FOTI sites now that also did not exist before, with TV
shows and movies available.
There may be a lot of content behind pay walls, but there's also a lot more
free, ad-supported content available now, than ever before.
