The latrst OFCOM statistics for the UK make very interesting reading: Freeview
(Freeview DTT + free-to-view satellite) draws level in total housholds with Sky
satellite subscriber households. A landmark moment. In the three and a
half-years since Freeview was launched a total of 11.0M + DTV units (STBS +
IDTVs) have been sold.( That would be about 44Million DTV units if rescaled to
the size of the USTVHH market.) In addition Freeview has now overtaken the
analogue terrestrial-only homes.

Full details at: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/research/tv/reports/dtv/dtu_2006_q1/

Separately I will post some further details on the DVB-T MPEG4 trials underway
in London, now being received by triallists with converted DVB-S MPEG4 STB's
and by PC owners with cetain DTV card solutions...

Kind Regards,

Dermot Nolan
