I think L-band usage is still as problematic in the U.S. now as it was in
1990.

I have just noticed an interesting development where the FCC is apparently
permitting trials of DAB+. Going to use SFNs as well.

That being the case and if successful, that would be very good news
internationally. The pricing of receivers would be expected to take a sharp
nose dive and the available range increase greatly. So I'm hoping it
succeeds as we (here) are only going to piggyback off the Australian market
at present. All the feedback I have to hand is that IBOC is not popular in
the US and that it is practically dead like the HD DVD. Can someone confirm
or otherwise?
