It should not be surprising, or worrying, that companies owning the neutral
broadband pipe would also want to play in the content game. The only thing that
would be troubling is if Verizon blocks the content-monetizing competition from
using Verizon's broadband pipe.

So Verizon wants to use AOL for content and for the ad insertion technology.
Good for them. Matter of fact, Verizon could also increase its revenues by
allowing customers on other broadband pipes to also access this AOL content.

Ditto for the other MVPDs, as they morph into neutral broadband pipes + their
own OTT sites.
