Hello: First, by way of introduction, my name is Ray Campbell, and I operate the Adaptive Technology Help Desk at the Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired. Our service is available to anyone who is blind or visually impaired if they have technology questions or issues they need help with. The phone number and e-mail address are at the bottom of this message. Now my question. I took a call this morning from someone who is running OpenBook Version 7.0 and she has a Romeo Attache embosser connected via USB to her computer. She wants to emboss directly from OpenBook. She pulled up an existing document and then I had her go to file->emboss from OpenBook. She then tabbed over to properties and pressed enter. We selected Romeo as the embosser, set the cells per line to 31, lines per page to 25 and top margin in lines to 1. We ran into a problem when we needed to select which port to use because the only ports listed were com1, com2, com3, lpt1, lpt2, lpt3 and Windows Device. None of these worked. Has anyone successfully embossed from OpenBook Version 7.0 with the Romeo Attache and if so, how did you set things up? The Romeo was on-line.
