[openbeostranslationkit] Binary compatibility

Have we discussed this topic at all?
I don't know how difficult this really is, but 
it seems difficult...

I am all for binary compatibility, however not if
it is insanly complex to to. I guess this is also a
general discussion for the whole OBOS. Travis has the
team leads discussed this?
