Make plans to join us for a special day on Sunday!
The choir will present a Christmas Music Celebration during 11:00 worship,
as we re-tell the Christmas story in songs and readings.
After worship we'll enjoy a Christmas party together in the fellowship
hall. If you are able, please bring a dish to share (may Aunt Gertrude's
famous asparagus recipe?), and a wrapped gift that costs no more than $5
for our exchange game.
Old Union's Christmas Eve service will begin at 7:30,. but you'll want to
come early to enjoy the special pre-service music. As always, the service
will include carols, an original Christmas story, communion, and a
candlelighting ceremony.
In other news...
- Per capita for 2020 is $40.79, to cover our share of the costs of our
denomination. Please consider an extra contribution to cover this expense
for the church.
- Speak with Ralph Jockel if you want to claim a mission to adopt for
2020. Adopting a mission means that over the course of the year you will
contribute at least $350 toward it.
- The tenth annual Lego Tournament will be held January 18. Please use
the attached flyer to spread the word to any young builders you know.
We're also looking for people to help with registration, lunch, and running
the events.
- Old Union has received a $2000 grant from the Wood Foundation to help
cover the cost of repairing the retaining wall and back porch. The total
cost for the project is $13,000. The Wood Foundation, which was
established by Velma Neese's brother, has provided funding for a wide range
of projects in our church for at least ten years.
