A hole in the annex ceiling greeted worshipers who came to Old Union Church
yesterday. If you weren't with us, I've attached pictures for you to see
yourself. We've known that the roof needed to be replaced, and we approved
a bid from a contractor who has agreed to move us up on his work schedule.
Hopefully he will be able to begin work next week (July 17). A cheerful
volunteer has done some temporary patchwork in the meantime, in hopes that
this week's rain won't add to the damage before the replacement work can
begin.
The contractor will replace all the roofs of the "old" building: flat roofs
and shingles, at a cost of about $34,000. Fortunately, we already have
about half that amount. Please consider an extra contribution to help us
meet this urgent need.
