Lisa,
I vote for Horacio Quiroga! For your Spanish 2 students, one of his Cuentos de
la Selva would be great (animal imagery, connect it to stories they've read as
kids, etc -- there are also some videos on youtube if you're interested). For
Spanish 4, one of his more intense stories like Almohada de Plumas or El Gallo
Degollado would be a good challenge for them. I suggest this, because he is so
important in terms of literary history, being the so-called father of the Latin
American short story. If your Spanish 4 students are really up for a challenge,
dare I suggest a Borges short story? La Biblioteca de Babel would be my vote --
ask them to connect it to their math knowledge (I have some resources if you'd
like).
The great thing is all of these stories can be found online and easily printed
or sent to the students as PDFs!
Best,Zach

Hola!

Any of you Spanish teachers out there have a good idea for a short story that I
can have my students read throughout the next 2 weeks? It could have something
to do with the winter season, las Posadas, or basically anything interesting
that they will like. I'm looking for a story for each of my levels (2nd year
and 4th year).

Thank you!

Lisa
