Hi Everyone!- It sounds like everyone had a wonderful first day! What a great group of teachers to call my colleagues :) Hey- I was wondering if when we want to give an individual persona a shout out on an idea or just give them an electronic "high five" if we could reply to that person only? I love hearing about all of my colleagues' ideas and successes, but my inbox is becoming overwhelmed :) You can reply to the original sender by rolling your cursor over their name. An icon of an envelope will appear and alongside that, their individual email :) You are all such an inspiration:) Tracy Patterson Profesora de español North Medford High School Department of World Languages 1900 N. I love it Antonio! Where could I get a chain poster? My first phrase for one full week is: ¡QUÉ CHIDO/PADRE! (Which means: 'how cool') and I will find ways to use them in the classroom:) Also, thanks to Nanosh, I created a little poster that says "cadenas" , and I put a picture of a chain link under the word. I, then, selected 5 phrases that I typed underneath...I chose "tambien, a veces, pero, porque, gracias a, y/e..) and I plan on leaving them up for one month and use them...As Nanosh and Arnold mentioned previously, this will help kids put sentences together, and they will 'own' these words with in a month! I will then add 5 new ones for month 2, etc.. Thank you all for sharing your ideas---I have borrowed so many--including Sherman's song for the days of the week!! Just finished the first full day with all of my students, levels 1-4. I think I lost about 10lbs in sweat from all of the circle activities we did, I think Noe probably did too. I went well, very well. Only in 6th period, a first year class, did I have to continually remind them: "Englisch verboten!" Now the real challenge is sustaining things and keeping it fresh and interesting. Hello Everyone, My first day is complete! Granted, I didn't have Spanish 1 yet, but let me tell you that my Spanish 3 students ROCKED today! It is a beautiful thing when you don't have to push much for "solo español"! Granted, I did a little tiny bit, but for the most part, the students were staying in Spanish and communicating near the level at which they last tested. It is a fabulous day, though I am utterly exhausted. Ricardo Days Activities 1. Pásame/Tú quieres? Game 2. SMOOSH 3. Correr y Saltar (just physical, no language) 4. Wrote vocab on the vocab list and pulled topics from the vocab and created question hook sequences to use for the middle part of the class.
