As we look to close out this year, we have a few things to take care of.
1st Elections, please see Chris Rowe or Rick Bugbee if you are interested in
being an officer or chair a committee. We will be nominating these positions at
our Nov. Meeting. If you are interested but can’t make the meeting e-mail Rick
( wholesalegroupri@xxxxxxx )
Alex is stepping down from secretary, duties are taking meeting minutes and
pictures at the meeting and creating the newsletter.
Committees: We need a chairman and a few assistants for each of the following
“many hands make little work for all”
Membership, duties are helping create new members as well as keeping members
active
Fundraising, duties are to create fundraising opportunities for the club
including raffles at each meeting
Demo’s, duties are to help locate people to do our monthly demonstrations
Learn to Turn, duties are to assist new members with technics and fundamentals
of turning before each meeting
2nd Christmas Party. Each year we have a potluck style party and have our
Elections for officers. This is a great time to bring your partner with you to
meet your turning friends. We will have an email going around to see what you
will bring so we don’t get too much or duplicates, this is a great time for all.
3rd. We need to book demos for the Jan., Feb, March meetings this is a great
way to teach and learn with all of us contact Rick if you’re interested or if
you know someone who could help. If no one steps up we will be forced to watch
Rick do a FLYING birds mouth vase again….
4th Its time to pay your dues soon, see Bob Hopkins or go to our web site and
pay online.
Want to get your photos on our face book page? See Mike Cotton as he will be
working on a member spotlight each month. Mike is doing a great job with our
face book page.
We still need about 50 more pens for vets. Gene is delivering them in Dec. We
have kits and blanks available at the November meeting if you need some but
remember they must be done by December 1st. Please help if you can.
November and December Raffle. $2.00 per ticket or 3 tickets for $5.00
This will be held at the Nov. and Dec. meeting and the drawing at the December
meeting.
We have 3 $25.00 gift certificates and a few burls so far and we are looking
for other items as well, so chances to win something is much better than the
lottery. Need not be present to win.
I had some time to do some more housekeeping in the classroom. We now have
plenty of room to fit everyone in the room comfortably. We also have a jet
lathe and a rikon band saw donation once we have enough space for them. I’m
working a table saw as well. I think it’s time to sell the craftsman lathe to
make room for the new donations, I’d like to get a motion to accept and vote on
at the next meeting.
Ready for the final room layout everyone’s opinion counts Let me know what you
think as I’m hoping to be done for the New Year
We have another great demo on tap this month
Hope to see you there
