Subject: Lathe for sale
Good day Rick,
My name is Peter. I was referred to you by a friend who said you are the
president of the Ocean State Woodturners club. I am not a member, but live in
RI. Anywho, I wanted to reach out and see if you would know any fellow members
or friends alike who would be interested in a Oneway 1640. I am selling an
entire turning package that I do not wish to part out. I'm testing the
woodturning community before I put it on FB marketplace or craigslist. If it
doesn't sell as a package, I'll just keep everything and it'll sit until I have
some other life things figured out. The asking price is $5,800 for the package
with the following:
—2hp 220v Oneway 1640 lathe with outboard turning extension (24" swing) Riser
block for tailstock on outboard, an extra banjo and various toolrests.
—Oneway coring jig with #1 and #2 knife for 16" swing (used on outboard side
with riser block
—Wolverine sharpening setup with grinder and various jigs
—Way too many turning tools, handles, and goodies to list. I just acquired a
bunch more tools through a friend (along with a few SB carbon handles and
gouges.)
—Three oneway chucks (one stronghold and 2 talons)
—Homemade donut jig for bowl bottoms
—Various parts and accessories for the lathe including a jig to recenter the
outboard turning extension should someone remove it for some reason.
The lathe is in great condition, a little paint wear but nothing major. It is
set up for some really comfortable outboard turning and very stable. Perfect
for someone interested in making a ton of bowls or hollow forms. I also have
hundreds of rough turned bowls nearly completely dry. I can let some of these
go for a reasonable additional price if the interest is there. Someone could
literally begin a small business selling bowls with this package if he or she
wanted. The only thing I can think of for upgrades that I haven't bothered to
do yet is a vacuum chuck system and an upgrade on wheels for the sharpening
(CBN).
Thanks for reading. Reach out for any questions. I can get some pics together
too if anyone wants them.
Cheers!
Peter Kenyon
