Sergey,
This is the exact conversation I chatted with Elizabeth and my team about. I
actually calculated some numbers which showed the significance of the
discrepancy resulting from the inclusion of these programs as we have
recruitment goals in these programs. It will likely artificially deflate any
gains if program enrollment isn't accounted for. It also impacted goal setting
with regards to our two student success grants around math-as we had to adjust
how we looked at the total number of students served. If we are to be inclusive
of all programs we needed to serve an additional 33% to meet their requested
targets.

Thanks Bill, this was exactly what I was looking for. Interesting that we are
looking at college level math but half of our programs don't require it.

Hello Sergey,
Attached is our blank form. The first sheet has the definitions. Based upon
the data the report you are viewing used "Completed college math in year 1" as
the same as "gateway".
The one definition that we struggled with the most was the definition of the
cohort.
First-time-ever-in-college students (no prior college enrollments at this or
other institutions, including both full- and part-time students but excluding
current and past high school dual enrollment students.
The exclusion of students who earned credit while in high school made our
cohort size shrink considerably.
Bill
From the sheet:
Completed college math in year 1
Number and % of fall cohort students who attempted and passed at least one
college level (i.e., non-developmental) math course (with grade A-D or P) in
the first full academic year. Withdrawals should be counted as attempting but
not passing the course.
Completed college english in year 1
Number and % of fall cohort students who attempted and passed at least one
college level (i.e., non-developmental) English course (with grade A-D or P) in
the first full academic year. Withdrawals should be counted as attempting but
not passing the course.

[EXTERNAL SOURCE] Stop, Think, Verify.
Hi,
we are not participating in Guided Pathway yet but our president asked me to
calculate metrics for our school that was used by GP (see attached).
It seemed more or less straight forward except defining gateway Math and
Writing courses. I was wondering if someone from participating colleges could
share with me how it was defined.
Thanks a lot!
