Hi,
UCC’s rate was 9.9%. We did not offer incentives. But we did do the following:
1. Email during the first week of spring term from college president to all
faculty, staff, and administration announcing the survey.
2. Email to all eligible students on survey opening date.
3. Survey announcement with link to sign in page in every student’s Canvas
home page.
4. Text message to all eligible students during the 2nd week of the survey.
5. Email from me to all faculty during the 3rd week of the survey asking if
they would consider encouraging students to take the survey.
6. Final email reminder to students on May 11 letting them know that the
survey was about to close.
7. Changed the appearance of the Canvas announcement on May 11 to try to
attract a few more students.
There haven’t been any discussions yet about how we might improve things for
SENSE. I am proceeding as if we will administer online, but want to talk with
faculty about how they might be able to help improve our participation. The
last time we ran SENSE, I had a few faculty decline to allow their class to
participate because fall term already has a lot of holidays and they didn’t
feel their students could afford to miss another day of instruction. The online
option helps with that.

I’m so impressed! COCC ended with a 7.2% response rate with the incentive of
winning one of four $50 Fred Meyer Gift Cards.
We obviously need to bump it up to $100. We have yet to rally the troops on
SENSE yet are planning for an online administration to be on the safe side.

Hi Courtney -
PCC had a 14.5% response rate which may have been helped due to the survey
completion incentive. (Respondents were entered into a drawing to win one of
ten $100 Amazon gift cards.)
We've had yet discussed participation/logistics of the SENSE survey.
Take care,
Laura

Hello OCCCIR people!
After almost 4 weeks of promoting the online CCSSE survey, RCC is up to a 7%
response rate. I'm wondering if you all fared much better. Would you share your
final response rates?
ALSO! We're moving into the SENSE survey soon! Given the outcome of online
CCSSE administration, are your schools planning on doing an online or in-person
administration?
Thanks,
Courtney
