Good afternoon everyone!

We have a small group at CCC that will be working on the data lifecycle
processes related to legal sex, gender, and sexual orientation datapoints
including:

  *   Data collection: Communicating to students how we are defining terms and
what we are using the data for.
  *   Storage: Understanding where the data lives, what the fields are called,
and who has access.
  *   Analysis: Creating a shared understanding of how these fields should be
analyzed and pitfalls that may arise out of purposeful or accidental
mishandling.
  *   Reporting: Establishing when we report legal sex vs gender and why.
Growing our internal expertise and having documented processes whenever we
match our internal categorizations to external bodies (e.g. How do we
categorize non-binary students when an external partner only accepts the
male/female binary?).

I'm wondering if anyone can share any documents/definitions/policies you have
for any points in the lifecycle?

This is our first project where we will be intentionally focusing on building
internal capacity to work on a Data Ethics and Equity framework, so more
general information is also welcome!
