During brief interlude between rain showers I went into the backyard today to
sit with binocs, scaring off the BANDTAILS while doing so, as pizza baked for
lunch. Several changes in just the last day or two: only one JUNCO to be seen,
but still numerous GOLDEN-CROWNS as well as three WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS. A
male YELLOWTHROAT was in the blueberries, and three ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS
were in the shrubs. EVENING GROSBEAKS continue in the feeders, along with
increasing numbers of PURPLE FINCHES and SISKINS.
