I was out of town December and January and when I returned my yard was a
sea of pink....Pink Flamingos ( Phoenicopterus plasticus )
They were everywhere ! in planters, under the plum trees, peeking out from
behind the palm tree, under the bird feeders....
I blamed my sister first :) then my neighbor, then a few friends here in
town...no one would fess up

then today ..after 6 weeks of wondering....I get this pretty postcard in
the mail. It's a picture of Flamingos in Florida
I turn it over and the first words that jump out at me are " Merry
Migration "
I didn't need to read any more to know where the flock had migrated from :)
as any of you OBOL readers will agree...only one person always signs off
with those words

Thank you Tim Rodenkirk !!! for making me smile every time I look out in my
yard :) I love them. I just wonder where they may migrate to next :)

In real bird news...I have many Violet-green and Tree Swallows back in the
yard and the plum trees are alive with Chestnut-backed Chickadees and
singing Ruby-crowned Kinglets

I love Spring
