The best reference for the information you seek is Cornell’s Birds of the World 
online. This is a subscription site. Each species account offers lengthy 
discussion of subspecies, with descriptions, range etc.

If you are looking for Oregon specific information, Birds of Oregon:A General 
Reference (2003) will be your best bet.
