We had 32 in our chimney several years ago. None since. We live in Gladstone

That is very interesting. I've never heard of congregations of Swift's
entering normal household chimneys before. Only about the large numbers which
seem to favor industrial-size chimneys as is so well-known nowadays. Have any
other people had congregations like this enter a household chimney?

We have observed over 100 swifts flying into our chimney the last two
nights. I believe they are Vaux's swifts. We had a nest in our chimney and
could hear the noise from the babies beginning about 3 weeks ago. The birds
have fledged and now we have the large group roosting. They begin circling
around 8 pm and then dive shortly after sunset. We live in Dallas.
